Description

Comprehending non-fiction materials is imperative in order to be a good citizen in the United States. This presentation will focus on how Social Studies teachers can teach reading strategies to enhance their classroom. We will examine nine different strategies that can be easily implemented in any history class and discuss how to analyze whether or not each student is truly comprehending what they read. We will also examine how the reading strategies will help each teacher implement the Common Core State Standards in their classroom.
