Dr. Gary Nash is a Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, and serves as the Director of the National Center for History in the Schools. He co-chaired the National History Standards Project from 1992-1996, and is the author or co-author of more than 25 books, including The Unknown American Revolution: The Unruly Birth of Democracy and the Struggle to Create America, and The Forgotten Fifth: African Americans in the Age of Revolution. Dr. Nash is also the editor of the forthcoming Atlas of American History.
