Abstract

Our lead project is about an app that allows for teachers to more effectively communicate and for students to more effectively time manage. Oftentimes, homework is a large contributor to a student’s stress. Different workloads from different teachers can sometimes pile up into a huge, intimidating mass that can be harmful to students’ mental health. Additionally, with the variety of classes that students take, it may become difficult for them to keep track of homework and deadlines. Thus, we propose MyClassCalndr, an app that may provide a solution to these issues. The app will allow teachers to view what other teachers are doing/assigning, which allows them to effectively gauge whether their assignments or big projects are poorly timed. Furthermore, students will be able to view all their assignments and deadlines in a convenient, calendar form. Not only does this prevent any surprise deadlines or tests, but it will also give students a general overview of their upcoming weeks and allow them to plan accordingly. The app is centered towards schools, specifically the students and teachers of the school. Ideally, the app will be paid for by schools that wish to integrate into their system, but non-obstructive ads can be played in other cases.
