Abstract
Eco-Shop is a project that aids people in learning to live a sustainable life as well as promoting small businesses. This app not only supports customers, but also sustainable small businesses as well. It proposes a platform for small businesses to sell their eco-friendly products to customers. The app allows users to search for home decor or apparel products and browse environmentally friendly options made by small businesses.
The app targets students who are into fashion trends and helping the environment. Small businesses are often overlooked due to the popularity of large industries. They are also a solution to the significant waste generated by large companies through excessive production and promote sustainability, and Eco-Shop aims to raise awareness about their benefits. Eco-Shop is committed to advancing both Goal 11, sustainable cities and communities, and Goal 12, responsible production and consumption, as part of its mission to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The app compares various items to determine which product best matches the user's search criteria, and includes filters for price points and proximity to small businesses. This enables users to customize their search and shop in-person if they prefer. Eco-Shop targets students interested in fashion trends and sustainability, but anyone can use the app to promote sustainable living and help small businesses succeed.
