This presentation will focus on creating lessons that make direct connections between historical events, current event, and 21st century skills. The session will incorporate multiple lesson ideas that could be adapted in any history/social studies classroom. The lessons will focus both on connecting the content of history/social studies classes to current events as well as on developing 21st century skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, information/media/technology literacy, global awareness, and civic literacy.
