About This Journal

El Camino is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the publication of outstanding research and creative works. El Camino accepts submissions of original research articles, works of fiction or poetry, audio works, visual art, and more. El Camino invites students and professionals, within and from outside of the IMSA community, to publish their original work.

The purpose of El Camino is:

  • To provide a setting for dissemination of research, ideas, and creative concepts.
  • To facilitate a beneficial learning experience for authors at every level.
  • To encourage and showcase original works in all disciplines.

We at IMSA believe that the best innovations happen through collaboration. Thus an important goal of El Camino is to be a facilitator in the development of scholarly work. All submissions to El Camino are accepted on a rolling basis and will undergo a double-blind review by a minimum of two experts in fields closely related to those represented in each submission. The review process is iterative and collaborative, designed so that authors can benefit from open discussion in regard to any recommended revisions or additions. Every effort will be extended to enable authors to hone their work to develop publications of outstanding quality.

The review process culminates with a final decision about whether to publish the work. Once the decision has made, the Editorial Board will work with authors to determine an appropriate publication date in El Camino.

By fostering intellectual endeavors and dialogue, El Camino strengthens the IMSA community and encourages others to join in our mission to ignite and nurture creative, ethical, scientific minds that advance the human condition.
