Abstract
Our group's UN Sustainable Development Goal was Life Under Water. The problem we are addressing is plastic pollution in our oceans. Our projected solution is to put in place stricter regulations on single use plastics. It’s much easier than holding large companies accountable, and everyone has to do their part this way. Plus it is much easier to pass county and states regulations on plastic than passing a nationwide ban. The regulations would do their best to eliminate the usage of single-use plastics. Examples of the regulations would be to have restaurants use more eco-friendly products for their customers to take leftovers using. For example, instead of using styrofoam or plastic container, they would be forced to use paper or cardboard. Another example is having customers bring their own reusable cups for their drinks. We can also ban stores from using plastic bags.
