Computer science as an academic discipline provides the knowledge and skill foundation for all the technological advances. The number of students pursuing computer science as a career choice or course of study has dropped precipitously at all levels. The number of high school students taking the Advanced Placement computer science exam, for example, has declined almost 20% over the past three years (CSTA). What is IMSA doing about it? We made one semester of Computer Science course a requirement for all our graduates. We welcome you to have conversation about what you can do to improve CS education in your school and how IMSA can help.
