Description

The Silk Road conjures up many images: lost cities, exotic goods, networks of trade, travelers and merchants, warriors and emperors. This presentation will discuss the potentially limitless historical, economical, political and geographical pedagogical opportunities that exposure to the Silk Road provides students through the study of: primary historical material; human migration patterns; music and artistic expressions; cultural interdependence; belief systems; exchange of ideas (scientific and technological innovations); global trade; and warfare.
