The trial, convictions, and eventual executions of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg (1951-1953) were pivotal Cold War events with transnational implications. This session will revisit the story of the Rosenberg case, but from an international perspective. Using recently discovered primary source documents from the U.S. Department of State, participants will learn how the case inspired protests across the world, and challenged American diplomats to consider public perceptions of the rule of law and justice from a wider international perspective.
