Abstract
The air in the Aurora area and much of Illinois is in poor condition. The are a lot of pollutants, many of them emitted by cars. In Aurora, NO2 is particularly high. NO2 is added for a large part by cars. These cars are driving along the major highways in the area. The most emissive points on highways are a t intersections. Trees can absorb NO2, as well as use CO2, and absorb other pollutants. This is why planting trees at the cloverleaf intersections of highways in around Aurora would improve the air quality.
