Abstract

In today’s society, teenagers are constantly facing busy schedules and lonely environments, adding onto stress and leading to mental health issues. Our project surrounds depression, aiming to relieve stress and help teens deal with their mental well being. As many teenagers use technology via cell phones, we believe an application that focuses on and targets mental health will benefit their emotional well-being by providing emotional relief and serving as an emotional outlet. As school and daily life is filled with stress for teenagers, we believe it is important to maintain mental health and make sure to keep users and people all over the world happy. In light of recent events, suicide and depressions are unspoken of and never addressed but are a major underlying problem in society. Our app would provide: information on where to get professional help, tips and tricks, activities and games for stress relief, quotes and videos for motivation and self-esteem, and activities for meditation and tranquility. This app would ideally provide teenagers with the means to improve their well-being, and promote self confidence, as well as raise awareness for general mental health.
