Abstract
The tropical rainforests, specifically the ones in South America, are being deforested, which means they are being cleared. This process is accelerating, and in turn feeding issues such as global warming, and soon there will be no more trees! To fix this we would implement a market mechanism to provide incentives such as tax cuts to American companies that can prove they have resources for their paper products from a healthy tree source. Doing this would reduce, and if not, then eliminate, America’s negative contribution to tropical deforestation.
