Abstract
Fracking is the process of extracting oil and natural gas from the earth by injecting water and other chemicals into existing fissures in the earth at very high pressures. Fracking is a serious problem which has negative repercussions on public health and the environment, which include poisoning water tables and releasing methane and other emission into the air. Additionally, oil spills are a huge problem when it comes to fracking. Our solution to this problem is to create new federal regulations that hold companies accountable for the environmental damages, by charging a percent of their profits from the company for a prolonged period of time of business, in addition to the company having to fully compensate those who were harmed by the damage.
