Abstract
The United States is the number one trash producing country in the world (usi.edu). At this rate, how much of our Earth will be left, with the continuing rate of garbage and landfills taking up animal habitats, neighborhoods, and people’s livelihood? Environmental sustainability is what we need to keep fueling our modern world. With the more people that are being born into this Earth, the effort to reduce the amount of waste that is being produced along with trying to use products that decompose easily in landfills is difficult. Since most people go toward the cheaper products on the market, being environmentally sustainable is costly as well. We tend to go at the root of the problem, companies that produce unsustainable products at a low price so people will buy the, Our company, “Environmentally Empowering,” works to combat this issue. We are an organization that is mainly based as a website. Through this, we can reach many people who use technology that are in our target audience range, which is the ages from 16-24. The website will have informative information to teach people about being more environmentally sustainable, but also highlighting the flaws in the system that keep them from achieving this goal. This will be our mininum viable product, showing if the population has a want to be environmentally sustainable. We will test this by the count of people who visit the site. Our main product will be a website platform that allows people to sign petitions and give money so that companies will switch to more environmentally sustainable product methods. For example, Snapple tea has recently switched from their sustainable glass bottles to environmentally harmful plastic ones. People can go to our website and sign the petition and donate so that the company will make this change. Once we have enough signatures, supporters, and donations, we will go to the companies in hopes of them switching back to the more sustainable product choice. Once doing this, the company will receive the money that we have raised to go about this endeavor of switching back. This is needed in our modern world because people will finally believe that they can make a change in the world around them, one signature and one donation at a time.
