Conflict and Instability within the US- A Summary of The Roots of Poverty

Abstract

Today, one of the main issues that exists in American society is poverty. As stated by the United States Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the rate at which Americans are unemployed increased by 4.4% in the last month, February. This number currently resides at an unemployment rate of 7.9%, representing about 24,390,898 American citizens. In order to decrease this number, it is important to study the causes of unemployment and poverty. In this study we will use government data and data about the coronavirus pandemic to reach conclusions about poverty and the unemployment rate. We will study and analyze data from recent events to find more information about poverty and unemployment, and how both impactful issues are caused.
