Abstract
Many senior citizens wish to continue receiving an education; however, it is rare for them to have this opportunity. This issue occurs because of the current gap between the elderly and Generation Z. We created Seniores as an organization that travels to local nursing homes to educate these residents. Our goal is to provide them with company and entertainment to help them enjoy their lives. The services that Seniores would provide varies from educating others about how to play an instrument, teaching them to speak a new language, and informing them about how to interact with the latest technology. IMSA students would be volunteers that help manage and serve this organization. They would work one-on-one with the elderly in order to enhance their music and language skills. As we know, technology advances every day, which means that the gap between the older demographic and society is enlarging as well. Our organization wishes to help the elderly gain knowledge about technology so that they can experience modern world advances. This includes instructing how to use cell phones, computers, digital watches, etc. Money can be earned through a weekly fee of ten dollars for each session. To start, we will begin with fundraisers and partnering with nursing homes that would provide donations as well. Our final goal is to scale this program to other nursing homes within the City of Aurora and beyond.
