Abstract
This project involves gathering information from United States national data sources to gain a deeper understanding of changes in temperature, precipitation, and extreme weather data. The goal of the project is to organize the information into a manner which demonstrates the more obscure impacts of global warming and climate change on the United States, beyond just the atmospheric temperature increases. Humans are impacted by climate change to a great extent, thus it is necessary to understand all the impacts it has on society to adjust resource usage and ensure the safety and habitability of our planet in the future. The primary focal points of this research project are to determine the level of increases in atmospheric temperature and weather extremity during the past half century and form an analysis on how this information affects the larger population of the United States. The data can further inform our sustainability outreach and implementation efforts as we look towards the years and decades ahead. This information will be presented in a digital format, such that the data may be presented interactively, and so that it may be widely available.
