Abstract
Our SLX project discusses the benefits of the Growth Mindset and how it affects students. The Growth Mindset is the belief that our most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work. Many students nowadays have fixed mindsets ( the idea that some people are born with natural intelligence, and others can’t learn to be as intelligent ) , and it’s especially true at an Institution like IMSA. Being surrounded by Illinois' best and brightest makes it really hard to stay motivated. Therefore, our SLX project is a walk through of the impacts of why having a growth mindset can change the education system; while also providing key studies to highlight the astonishing effects this type of lifestyle can have on a person. So all in all, we will be investigating said impacts, and although the major focus of the group is teenage students (as it will be a more effective model for students at IMSA), we will still take into account other factors such as gender, socio economic status, area, wtc to ensure we have reliable data
