Abstract
We are aligned with UNSDG #16, Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. We are analyzing where Asian hate crimes increased the most in America after Covid-19, how the numbers of hate crimes differ from the outbreak of Covid-19, and options as to how America and its people can make a change. We are trying to answer why they increased in some locations and increased in others. For example, they greatly increased in major cities compared to other areas. Although there is no definite answer to stopping all hate crimes, education and creating safer communities can certainly prevent and lower animosity between race groups. We will analyze different studies about increases in Asian hate crimes because of Covid-19 to determine why they increased more in certain areas compared to others. With our findings, we hope to inform people of the reasons for the increase and how they can reduce the number of Asian hate crimes in the future.
