Abstract
This project aims to research the correlation between women’s role in society and a country's total fertility rate. Throughout the project, the differences between women of various socioeconomic statuses were analyzed, as well as the ratio of men to women in the workforce, and women with different levels of education. The research revealed that women who attend school for longer periods of time tend to have fewer children later in life, whereas women who attend school for shorter periods of time have children earlier on and more children overall. Additionally, women of lower socioeconomic status tend to have higher replacement rates than those who are of higher socioeconomic status due to a lack of resources. Our statistical analysis findings could be used to educate people on the differences between women of contrasting backgrounds.
