Abstract
Our product is a water bottle nozzle attachment designed to make clean drinking water easier to access in a wide range of situations. The goal of this project is to create a simple and effective water filtering device that can attach to almost any standard bottle. By focusing on flexibility and ease of use, we aim to provide a solution that works for both everyday use and more challenging environments. This idea was developed with outdoor users in mind, especially hikers, campers, and others who spend long periods of time away from reliable water sources. In many remote locations, finding clean and safe drinking water can be difficult and sometimes risky. Carrying large amounts of water is not always practical, and natural water sources are not always safe to drink from. Our product, FlowState, helps solve this problem by allowing users to filter water directly through a bottle they already have, making hydration safer and more convenient. In addition to outdoor recreation, this product has the potential to make a meaningful impact in emergency situations. In disaster zones, access to clean water is often one of the most urgent challenges people face. By producing and distributing these attachments in bulk, relief organizations could provide a quick and practical way for large groups of people to filter water
on their own. This could help reduce the spread of waterborne illnesses and improve overall safety during recovery efforts. Our project also connects to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 6, which focuses on clean water and sanitation for all. Millions of people around the world still lack reliable access to safe drinking water. By creating a low-cost, portable filtering attachment, our product supports this goal by making clean water more accessible on a smaller, individual level. While it is not a complete solution to the global water crisis, it represents a practical step toward improving water safety and availability in situations where traditional infrastructure is not available. We focused on this problem because we recognized a clear need for a portable and widely compatible solution. Many existing water filters are either expensive, bulky, or limited in how they can be used. Our design aims to remove those barriers by being lightweight, easy to carry, and simple to attach to common bottles. This makes it a practical choice for a wide range of users. Overall, our product is built around one key idea: making clean water more accessible wherever people go. Whether someone is hiking in a remote area or dealing with an emergency situation, this nozzle attachment provides a straightforward and reliable way to access safer drinking water.
