Abstract
Livestock in America are the leading factors for high methane emissions in our atmosphere. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, 37% of methane emissions are sourced from agricultural livestock. Methane is potent to our atmosphere; it captures heat 30% more effectively than carbon dioxide. As environmental regulations tighten and sustainability becomes a growing priority, there is an urgent need for practical, cost-effective solutions that can be implemented directly within existing agricultural systems.
To prevent greenhouse gases from affecting pollution rates, we have developed Moothane. Moothane is a conversion system that will capture the methane from inside livestock barns through powerful ridge-level intake ducts and overhead ventilation systems. Methane is directed into low-energy biofiltration reactors that use methane-oxidizing microbes for the chemical conversion. In return release carbon dioxide, a better alternative to methane, and water vapor. Additionally, Moothane offers real time tracking monitors for farmers to measure emission reductions.
In addition to its environmental benefits, Moothane is designed for ease of use and economic value. The system integrates with existing barn electrical infrastructure, includes backup battery support during power outages, and offers real-time emission monitoring for performance tracking. Farmers also benefit from a one-year maintenance warranty, with optional subscription services thereafter.
Preliminary testing and projections indicate that Moothane can reduce methane emissions by up to 50% per livestock facility, offering a substantial improvement over current mitigation methods.
With this revolutionary technology, we hope to achieve tremendous reductions in methane emissions. For our farmers, they will benefit from this product with additive products, specifically enabling carbon credit revenue. We are expecting 15% methane reductions nationwide from United States agricultural farmers. With each unit lowering the methane emissions by 45% per barn. This solution reduces methane while also releasing water vapor and a more eco-friendly alternative to methane, carbon dioxide, that doesn’t trap as much heat.
Overall, Moothane represents a practical and forward-thinking approach to addressing agricultural emissions. By combining environmental impact reduction with financial benefits and ease of implementation, this technology has the potential to play a key role in transforming livestock farming into a more sustainable and economically viable industry for the future.
