Abstract

As of 2024, at least 770,000 people in the United States experience homelessness every night. That’s more people than Wyoming, or Vermont, or even the massive state of Alaska. Just imagine, an entire state (with Alaska even being the largest by area!) just full of people that don’t have a comfortable place to live, suffering out in the cold, having to dig through trash cans to find food, and unable to practice hygiene to the point that other people want nothing to do with them. Our project aims to bridge the gap between homeless people and companies by providing both parties with what they need: housing and workers. Our constituents will enter an agreement with companies through our program and get housing with the condition that they have to work for that company. Those people will still get wages, but only a fraction of the wage because a lot of it will be going to their living residence, all expenses of which will be covered by the company we’ll work with. We’ll have restrictions in place to participate in the program (such as not consuming drugs or alcohol, gambling, etc.) and hope that this can alleviate this issue in America. Unlike other ambitious projects that hope to be a panacea for homelessness, we realize that this is just a mere stepping stone for people to make a better life for themselves. Our service will simply be the foundation for their development, and hope that others can carry the flame and make life better for all.
