Guest Biographies
Cynthia Morales
Cynthia earned a B.S. degree in Plant Biology from the University of Illinois in 1996 and a J.D., cum laude from Tulane Law School in 2001.
While in law school, Cynthia was Senior Managing Editor of the Environmental Law Journal and a student attorney in the environmental Law Clinic where she represented indigent clients in their efforts to enforce Louisiana's environmental laws and regulations. Presently, Cynthia is a Law Clerk to the Honorable Cecilia M. Altonaga, United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Previously, an Associate in the Miami office of Shook, Hardy & Bacon, LLP, Cynthia received the firms' Pro Bono Award for her involvement with the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center representing unaccompanied minors in INS custody. Cynthia has also had a few accomplishments in the field of science. She was a 1993 Research Training Participant at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. and returned as a Pew Fellow in 1994. Cynthia currently serves as a Director on the Dade County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section and as a member of the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors.
