Abstract
The problem we are addressing is the safe and effective storage of nuclear waste. The storage of nuclear waste is a problem because the storage of this waste is very dangerous. Although there are few problems about the waste itself, storage is a bigger problem because the U.S. has no permanent nuclear storage facilities and preparing facilities takes 15 to 20 years. Furthermore, we have spent approximately 5 billion dollars in the past decade over nuclear waste and the problems that come with it. We would like to come up with better ways to store this waste because nuclear waste is growing and if we find more effective ways of storing it, then it will become better. Our policy is continuing the construction of the nuclear waste facility at Yucca Mountain, which would make it the first permanent storage faculty in the United States.Yucca mountain has been studied for 20 year and has been proven to be the best place to store nuclear waste in the USA.
