Abstract
Many students in their tween to teen years, struggle with anxiety, ADHD, and/or OCD. In order to aid these students, there are many tools and gadgets, such as fidget spinners, fidget cubes, and silly putty, which are supposed to help calm the anxious person. While these tools may be useful for many teens with the mental struggles listed previously, some do not benefit from these tools, therefore requiring the creation of a toy that involves a different tactile response. ScratchGuard will serve this purpose. Unlike any other tools in the fidget market, the ScratchGuard can be worn as an article of clothing worn around the wrist which the user can rub or scratch in order to relax. The ScratchGuard is customizable to the user, meaning that they can request one of three fabrics for the outside of the Guard to be made of: canvas, felt, or fleece. Its color can also be customized for the user. By providing users with a wearable way to relieve stress, ScratchGuard will transform the fidget market from solely being centered around objects that you have to carry around with you to a versatile market with any fidget an anxious teen could possibly need.
