Abstract
The UNSDG goal that our group decided to focus on is Zero Hunger. Over the pandemic, out of all the students who qualified for free or reduced lunch, only 15% were receiving it. For many of these students, specifically those who live in food deserts, the meal that they receive in school is the only meal they will get throughout their day. When they are deprived of food at school, students are not able to develop both physically and mentally, leading to lower academic success in the classroom. But get this: over 108 billion pounds of food is wasted every year. What if we reallocate that wasted food to schools that need it the most?
