Abstract
What is Jute?
Jute is an online classroom managing platform. Posting assignments and assessments are made easier by students being able to see what their file looks like before they submit it, a problem we face when submitting assignments every day. This allows students to check if their files are corrupt or formatted properly.
Jute also simplifies communication by including a chat section where students can message their teachers privately. This is more effective than emails because the need for formalities is eliminated and it stimulates a real conversation.
Why the name Jute?
Jute is an acronym for Joining U, Teachers, and Education. Jute is also a fiber that is used in things such as rugs, rope, and sometimes even Canvas ;) We chose this name because we wanted to highlight the fact that our product is more fundamentally-based, focusing on what problems need to be addressed from other online classroom platforms such as Google Classroom and especially Canvas.
