Abstract
This project is aimed to document the contradictory trend between food production and the prevalence as well as malnutrition in the United States. Since the Green Revolution, a period of progress in agricultural science and production after the Second World War, food production within the United States has substantially increased. Domestic production such as wheat, potatoes, rice, maize, and meat has greatly increased since 1961, with certain foods such as wheat and meat even quadrupling in production. Yet, hunger in the United States has stayed static since 2001 despite this growth in production. In perhaps the most powerful nation in the world, what could cause this discrepancy?
