Abstract
Water is an essential part of life, yet the water present at IMSA is far from beneficial to the wellness of IMSA students due to its hardness. Hard water is characterized by high calcium levels, which can cause several negative health concerns such as dry skin and kidney stones. Many students avoid drinking IMSA water, dehydrating themselves during a crucial development stage, especially students who partake in sports and active lifestyles, refraining from drinking water is dangerous. Our project aims to resolve the issue of IMSA’s water quality through 2 stages. Firstly, through a research project focused on determining the quality of IMSA’s water and its effect on students. Secondly, through a class that presents the findings of our research as well as present tools and ideas to help improve the quality of water on an individual basis.
