Abstract

IMSA wastes a lot of food and electricity, especially when compared to similar size schools and dormitories in different regions. Compared to IMSA, these schools appear to be extremely trash and energy-efficient. This is reflected in the entire US, as it is the single largest food-wasting country in the world, surpassing countries like India, with significantly larger populations. This project aims to highlight the differences between IMSA and other schools and provide potential solutions to minimize waste. Food drives and a reworking of Lexington can provide new outlooks and strategies for reducing food waste.
