Abstract
This project explores the repurposing of plastic bags that are difficult to reuse in sustainable methods. As it isn’t recommended to recycle plastic bags, our solution is to use them as insulation. This project strives to turn millions of plastic bags into insulation. This insulation can be used in many everyday items from the padding in your jacket to the walls of your home. We will be using existing knitting machines to knit plastic bags into mats. These mats can be made into varying sizes and replace the typical plastic filling. To obtain our funding, we will partner with stores that may be the cause of the problem. This will be the solution to the lack of recycled plastic bags.
