Abstract
Our SLX project explores the idea of implementing a required curriculum, in schools, centered around food waste awareness to reduce the growing issue of food loss. The purpose is to examine whether educating students at a young age can lead to significant improvement in food waste. In support of this project, data will be recorded over the course of one week of how much food waste IMSA produces per day. This study is conducted in the hopes of better understanding waste levels at schools and integrating education in the solution.
