Abstract

Every year, millions of skilled professionals emigrate from developing nations to wealthier countries, taking their knowledge, networks, and expertise with them permanently. Meanwhile, students left behind lack access to mentors who understand their cultural and economic reality. Existing platforms like Khan Academy deliver content but not connection. No platform has addressed the human gap. BRemit identifies the diaspora community as an untapped educational resource. Using a culturally specific matching algorithm, BRemit pairs immigrant professionals living in developed nations with students in their countries of origin, based on shared language, hometown, and career field. Sessions are hosted on a low-bandwidth, SMS-compatible platform to ensure accessibility in regions with limited internet infrastructure. To achieve financial sustainability, BRemit monetizes through corporate ESG sponsorship packages, sold to multinational companies operating in developing markets who need verifiable community impact data for annual sustainability reports. This eliminates dependence on donations and creates a self-sustaining revenue loop. Mentors are incentivized through "Roots Credits," a verified impact credential valuable for visa applications and corporate advancement. BRemit directly addresses UN SDG 4 by expanding access to quality, culturally relevant education for underserved youth globally,  without requiring new infrastructure, government intervention, or charity.
