Abstract
LaunchPath is a specialized career discovery platform designed to help college students and recent graduates navigate the often overwhelming process of finding internships and entry-level jobs. The current job market is incredibly difficult for young professionals because most major employment websites are built with seasoned workers in mind. This creates a massive disconnect for students who have plenty of potential but limited professional history. Many traditional job boards are cluttered with "entry-level" roles that frustratingly require three to five years of experience, leaving students feeling ignored by the very systems meant to help them.
To solve this problem, LaunchPath uses a custom AI engine that changes how career matching works. Instead of just scanning for old job titles, our platform performs a deep analysis of a student's entire academic and personal background. It looks closely at specific coursework, technical skills, and hands-on projects to build a complete picture of what a student is actually capable of doing. For example, a Computer Science student at a school like UIUC might not have a long list of past internships, but they likely have high-level experience from rigorous classes and complex coding projects. LaunchPath recognizes that value and treats those academic achievements as valid proof of skill.
By understanding a student's true capabilities, the platform can automatically match them with highly relevant opportunities that fit their specific profile. This eliminates the exhausting guesswork of the modern application process, where students often feel like they are sending resumes into a black hole. We focus strictly on roles that are genuinely intended for early-career talent, ensuring that every recommendation on the user's dashboard is a realistic and high-quality lead.
