Keynote Address: Dr. Kai Orton, Assistant Professor, Northwestern University

This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Kai Orton. Dr. Orton was involved in research of various types of cancer prior to becoming an assistant professor at Northwestern University. Dr. Orton and her team from Northwestern’s Office of STEM Education Partnerships have developed and are implementing the Computational Thinking in STEM Program. Through this program, teachers receive both lesson plans that blend computational thinking ideas and STEM content, as well assessments, to assist in teaching students critical 21st century skills needed for STEM-field careers.
