Abstract

ClubView is an app that will directly modernize and simplify communication between the student base and extracurricular groups. The issue with communication today is the use of half-baked systems in the attempt to satisfy a modernization of communication lacking organization and user-friendliness. ClubView proposes to create a platform that requires little knowledge of the platform to use, while still being versatile. Clubs can be viewed with included search filters, and include a system for newcomers to join clubs, with optional application forms. Clubs can have the ability to use private and public chat places for their clubs. Calendars will be an included feature with compatibility with Google Calendar as well. Push notifications and announcements will be included. The target audience to begin with is IMSA, more specifically IMSA students. IMSA currently is in the development phase of Presence.io, which suffers from lack of user-friendliness, and completeness. ClubView will be free to use, and will be designed by students, who are part of the targeted audience, and will have a better understanding of what IMSA students will require to communicate effectively.
